Shigurui: Death Frenzy

The Shigurui: Death Frenzy series is set in the Edo Era, a time of relative peace, but one in which Lord Tokugawa Tadanaga hosts a high-stakes fighting tournament. For the first time, real swords are used instead of wooden ones, raising the stakes for the competitors. Fujiki Gennosuke and Irako Seigen, both students of the renowned swordsman Iwamoto Kogan, face off in this intense match, each seeking to prove themselves as his worthy successor. The outcome will determine Japan's next greatest swordsman.
